Knights of Columbus
This is a national fraternal men’s organization with a local chapter. It has fundraisers through the year to give it the resources to assist programs in our parish. The Knights of Columbus meets on the third Thursday of the month in the Sacred Assembly Room in the basement of the Rectory.
The Knights of Columbus Council 8269 of Maquoketa has earned the distinction of Star Council, one of the organization’s top awards, for the 2015-2016 fraternal year. The organization’s headquarters, located in New Haven, Connecticut, made the announcement. The award recognizes overall excellence in the areas of membership recruitment and retention, promotion of the fraternal insurance program, and sponsorship of service oriented activities.
“Receiving the Star Council Award is quite an honor for us. We’re extremely proud of this accomplishment,” proclaimed Grand Knight Dennis Ihrig, head of the local council.
The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic lay organization. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Church, their community, families and young people. With more than 1.9 million members in over 15,000 councils around the world, the Knights of Columbus annually donates more than $175 million and 73 million hours of service to charitable causes.

This is a national fraternal women’s organization with a local chapter. It has fundraisers through the year to give it the resources to assist programs in our parish. Meetings are on the 1st Tuesday of the month September-April at 6:30 pm in the Sacred Heart School cafeteria.
Franciscan Associates
This is a group of people who say the Prayer of St. Francis daily, and pray for the Franciscan Community in Dubuque. They are remembered in a Mass at Mt. St. Francis every Wednesday, and prayed for daily by the Sisters.
Franciscan Affiliates
This a group of people bonded with the Franciscan Sisters who meet monthly for study, prayer and service. They are remembered each Wednesday at Mass at Mt. St. Francis by the Sisters.
